Kayla’s girlfriend works all the time; leaving her on her own most nights. Loneliness can make you do things you wouldn’t normally consider; like placing an ad in the personals on one of those sites. Have you ever been so lonely and so bored that you considered putting an ad out for just someone to talk to? Some nights you just need to know there is someone out there for you.
It certainly has its dangers; but is the risk worth it? There is only one way to find out, what can it hurt? It isn’t like they will ever meet; she would just be someone to talk to.
She posted the following
"We will never meet, I will never look into your eyes, never reach over to replace the strands of wayward hair back behind your ear. My lips will never find the small of your neck to make chills go down your spine. I am looking for someone to talk to, text, email, someone I can make feel special, wanted. If you are that woman, email me. Put that 'special someone' in the subject line. I will respond if your note intrigues me."

Decent short story. Very interesting ending. I hate stories of cheating, especially if the person who is cheating is too cowardly to just get out of the relationship. A kind of "you're the love of my life, but let me cheat on you." No innocent parties among the main characters. Nonetheless, the ending was interesting. The problem is that the author doesn't let you know who is speaking. There are no transitions when you move from Dana to Kayla and back. So, it's hard to know who is who. I had to stop a lot in the story (a short story) to back track to figure out who the speaker or thinker was. As a result, the story was just not enjoyable.
I got the book when it was free. I see that the price has gone up to $2.99. I don't think it's worth that price. Way too short and again given the lack of transition from speaker/thinker to another, too confusing.

Kayla edition by Tamara Johnson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
No spoilers here but this one made me cry. It is a cleverly written 'short'. Not much to say without spoilers but I liked it a lot. This author takes us on a whirlwind of emotions and cleverly transitions from first person story-telling to third person. The story is believable and enjoyable.
